*waves to f-list*
Mar. 5th, 2012 10:58 amA while back I got my hands on some TF Kreos.

No prizes for guessing which ones I bought :3 Bitty mechs are all set to help with the building.

Kreo Prowl, reporting for duty.

Kreo Jazz, ready to join the party.

The lego-brick Jazz will take a bit more building, good thing there's a quartet of worker bees (ha) on hand to help. (Bitty!tfa-eliteguard Bee is a little overwhelmed. There's so many pieces! Both bitty!movie and not!EG Bee are attempting to calm him down while G1 Bee looks at the manual.)

And they're off to a good start. Stickers must be pasted with care, there's only one sheet of them to use.

These guys are a regular F1 pit crew.

(A pit crew who aren't above a little juvenile humour, they are bitty!mechs, after all)

Showing off their handiwork to bot!Jazz, who looks very impressed.

Lego Prowl comes with more parts... A lot more.

Nothing for it but to get started. Bitty! Optimuses (and Hound) get cracking.

Coming together nicely...

And ta-dah! (only... Lego Prowl's a little taller than bot!Prowl... and skinnier... with upside down doorwings...) Bot!Prowl promises to help the bitty!Optis and Hound sort out the build. There's a lot of leftover blocks that weren't used for lego Prowl.

But what about the other bitty!Prowls in residence? Well, they have a project of their own. Little lego cop (actually a knock-off product that isn't lego at all) is quite appreciative of the help.

Bitty!cop cycles know how important good wheels are when you only have two of them.

All done! This set doesn't turn into a bot, but hey, accessories! :3

Date: 2012-03-06 03:19 am (UTC)Makes me wish I had both money and room for Transformers (the real toys, action figures, and perhaps the 'knock off's too, if there' good enough - or close enough to the actual thing).
Glad to see you're still in the land of the living. I have been re-reading some of your stories, and love every single one of them. Continue, please.
Though, I do understand if the muse is not present. That, or real life insists on its turn.
Thanks for sharing these photos. Now, lets see what I can find at the next garage sale and second-hand stores.
By the way, do you have a media preference? I'm so far behind, I don't know where to start - most of my knowledge comes from fan stories like yours, and so while I have names, I don't have a physical description to go with the characters. Cartoons, comics, movie (the live-action film, not the animated 1986 - unless that's your favorite), or other? Thanks.

Date: 2012-03-06 03:59 am (UTC)The stories, plots, and descriptions are so good, I thought you were basing them off the characters you picked up from the official media.
Huh, so there is hope for my stories (when I finally decide they are 'finished' and the muse has given me more than scraplets of scenes).
Thanks for the advice. Will follow - and I have checked out TFwiki already, though the pictures are a bit hard to decipher. Oh well, beggars can't be fussy.
Wait, should that 'common advice' be submitted to Mythbusters for testing? To see if does make more sense for beggars to be a bit pickier than others, or accept the meager allowances tossed their way? Health-wise, I'd say yes, because who knows what kind of food-born illnesses are in the scraps and garbage. But at the same time, their body is demanding any kind of nutrition and might override common sense.
Okay, if I find any comics at antique stores, I'll pick them up. Otherwise, stick with the method I've already found interesting.
Catch you later.

Date: 2012-03-06 06:00 am (UTC)How are the pictures hard to decipher? If you want really clear reference images, there are official art books and stuff. Scale comparison, on the other hand, is another fluid thing. Even the canon creators tend to go with 'eh, it works'.
Re: Nice! Cute figurines
Date: 2012-03-06 06:21 pm (UTC)The fluidness of Transformer seems to be my biggest problem.
Most of the other 'realms' and worlds I follow are either by a single creator, or the subsequent producers have decided to stay/flow the leader's footsteps.
Transformers, as you have pointed out, isn't like that. It is a mish-mash of unclear divisions and a lot of info either changes from media to media, or contradicts earlier versions.
If it sells, and since kids don't pay strictest attention to plot details and the minor issues that pop up on occasion, then the action and 'cool explosions' are more important to the show than anything else.
For me, if I see it flat or in 2-D first, the colors blend together, and I can't find the three-d effect (lack of shadows, limited definition), but if I see it in the real world then as a photograph, drawing, or painting, I can see the invisible lines that help define the boundaries.
My brain is just wired differently from most people's - at least, those I know in person. Or maybe it's my computer and monitor settings. On-line images, are typically too small for the intricate stuff, but the zoom-in feature is great! When I find something that intrigues me. Ah, well. I'll get by or adapt.
Thanks for the advice. Have a good week (or month, or year, or whatever time frame your heart desires/needs). Take care, and May God Bless You.
Re: Nice! Cute figurines
Date: 2012-03-07 02:02 am (UTC)Besides, the Transformers shows are one big toy commercial. Plot is less main course and more decorative sprinkles on the cupcake at the end ;D
Mm, I guess photos of the toys would be more helpful to you then? In fic, I figure it doesn't affect the story as much as long as people get the colours right.
You take care too :3
