Prompt from [livejournal.com profile] dvana:
Well according to my handy dandy book of writing prompts (and the wonky way I read it), today's is either "something bought mail order" or "It's too soon to tell." I figured you'd take a pass on "write about a pair of shoes"... I know I would. I love this book. Anyway, don't run with either if they don't nibble; I'm happy to supply different or more. Good luck with the writing.

He pressed trembling hands against the clear glass, stilling their shaking. On the other side of the transparent barrier, a dark headed figure lay on a work table as engineers and mechanics worked at a frenetic pace.

“Smokescreen, is he going to be alright?”

“I… It’s too soon to tell, Blue’.”

There was a soft keening sound, and as the towheaded android wrapped his arms about the other AI, from behind a mirrored window one researcher turned to another with a pleased smile.

“Well. Looks like we did manage to perfect the emotional programming.”

Prompt from [livejournal.com profile] mapleflavored:
2. How ‘bout Jazz watching Prowl work, and getting bored/tired/horrified about it.

“Man, don’t you ever run out of energy?”

Prowl glanced up at the man sitting backwards in one of the many swivel chairs scattered about the room. Shifting that glance to the power cable plugged into a wall socket (the other end being plugged into him), and then back to Jazz, the android raised an eloquent eyebrow. The hacker chuckled as he rose from his seat, stretching out cramped muscles as he disconnected from the console bank.

“Okay, point taken, you can keep going as long as you’ve got a power source, but even computers need a defrag cycle and time to cool down on occasion.”

A faint smile. “I am not your average PC, Jazz.”

“Got that right, still, why don’t you take a break?”

“I don’t need one. My processors can continue functioning at optimal efficiency for at least one hundred hours of continuous activity.”

“Yeah, but I can’t do the same, so I need a break, and I want company of the super advanced walking computer kind. C’mon, don’t make me beg. It’s not pretty.”

Prowl sighed, rising from his seat with a look of mock longsuffering as he gestured towards the door. Jazz cheered, and had the tactical A.I. riding shotgun away from the base with a bemused sort of resignation in no time at all.

Prompt from [livejournal.com profile] mmouse15:
Optimus/Jazz: discussion of the new bots (Smoky, Blue, Prowl) and how they're fitting into the team.

“Y’called?”

“Yes. I was wondering if our newest members were integrating with the others.”

“Y’mean, have they run screaming for the hills yet upon being exposed to our merry little band of glitches.”

Optimus shot Jazz a darkling look, and the man smirked.

“They’re coping. Blue’s been adopted by almost everyone who claps eyes on him and Smokescreen’s a hit with anyone with hormones and double X chromosomes, and few of the ones with an X and a Y. How they’ve managed to do that when they’re fragging identical is beyond me.”

“And Prowl?”

“He’s been lending a hand with our paperwork. Magnus practically worships the ground he walks on. I think he plans on stealing our Prowl-bot to help him with the other departments.”

“What?”

“He’s managing to keep it all under control too. Told you you needed a system.”

“I have a system.” The larger man protested, and the hacker smirked, pointedly nudging a haphazard stack of files and miscellanea.

“Well, yeah, but archaeology’s a lousy system for this kinda thing. You’ve got forms older than I am in here.”

Wondeful! You do such wonderful hints with these short stories. :) glad to see my prompts managed to do something for your muse (what, no shoes?) you've really got the heartless jerk thing down with the scientists. /hugs blue

Thanks, the stories are great—and Prowl's plug made me giggle. Hope he's surge-protected.

^_^ I did try for the shoes, morbid curiosity made me do it, but I ended up with a line that seemed kinda like I was shoehorning (*bricked*) the prompts in, especially since it was about shoes looking like they were mail order ;P

P.S. Prowl's usually the one giving the surges, if you know what I mean >:3

Given the ages of the AI units makes this such a funny line!
I really like the responses you gave here, and I hope they're helping you build this world of yours. It's nicely done, and these were fun to read.

Smokescreen’s a hit with anyone with hormones and double X chromosomes, and few of the ones with an X and a Y
Smokey just teh sexy, that's all there is to that!

Nice responses, Ante!

The prompts are helping immensely, and they're moving this 'verse in directions I'd never even considered.

Smokey does his best, he does ^_^ Glad you like.

Heh. Love all of them, though I have to admit that the first one hit me the hardest. Poor Blue and Smoky, (and Prowl, seeing as he's the one on the table getting opened up.) *pats the android*
