Title: *shoots bunny for being unhelpful*
'Verse: G1 Transformers
Characters: Datsuns.
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: TF cussing.
One mech watched another pace about his office, then stop dead and sigh.
“I’m worried.”
“Why?” The watching mech tilted his helm in curiosity, and his companion made a frustrated little sound before dropping into the chair in front of him.
“He’s been refueling more often, isolating himself more than usual, and his core is running is warmer than average.”
“Sounds like a virus to me.”
“But he’s not said anything! And just where would he get a virus? You know him, he doesn’t download indiscriminately.”
“What about that kid, Chip?”
“Chip’s up to date with his patches and firewalls, I made sure of that. And he, Spike and Carly know to run a scan before they send us files. Especially after ‘Bee got hit by that Trojan.”
“Good thing it was pretty harmless. Bumblebee’s systems managed to clear the infection in under a day. But it could be something new that slipped past the normal safeguards.”
“Yeah.”
“Look, if you’re so worried, get him to see Ratchet. A quick scan will sort out the issue.”
“Do you have any idea how difficult it is to get him to see any sort of medic when he’s not actively bleeding?”
“Heh. I do. Well, that’s what elder sibs are for, aren’t we? C’mon, we have an intervention to carry out.”
= = =
One mech looked up as two more entered the room.
“… Can we talk to you?”
“Of course. What do you need?”
“It’s not us. Are you alright?” The subject of the inquiry favoured them with a puzzled look.
“I’m fine.”
“Y’sure?”
“Yes. I’m sure.”
“But you’re taking more energon, and you’re warm, and you’re staying away from everyone!”
“We’d feel better if you went to see Ratchet, Prowl. And we’re prepared to carry you to him if need be.”
The mech stared at them, then chuckled, shaking his head at their bewildered faces.
“Blue’, Smokey. How old am I?”
Both mechs paused, running the calculations in their heads, evidently coming to the same answer.
“Oh.”
“Frag.”
“So you see, there’s nothing wrong with me per se, and nothing that Ratchet can really do about my situation, unless you’re suggesting that I ask him to-”
“Prowl!”
“Ah yes. I forget that you’re prudish about such things.”
Smokescreen groaned at the faint smirk Prowl was giving him. “There are some images I do not need, particularly when they involve my little brother!”
“Yes, yes. In any case, now that you know that I’m perfectly healthy, was there anything else you wanted to discuss?”
“Primus.”
Both tacticians turned to the third Datsun, expressions querying. Bluestreak sighed, staring at the ground, doors low and fists clenched.
“Bluestreak?”
“I suck at being your older brother, Prowl.”
The black and white mech was immediately crossing the room to clasp his arm. “No, you don’t.”
“I do. Smokescreen’s older than us, but you’re my youngest brother; I should be the one taking care of you. Instead, I wake you up at night with my nightmares, I get unsettled when I don’t know where you or Smokey are, I’m always taking up your time when you have work or other things to do and just now I didn’t even realise you’d reached-” Prowl interrupted him, his voice firm.
“Your youngest brother wasn’t in Praxus when it came crashing down. He didn’t have to hide from Decepticons hunting down the survivors.” The SIC gently unclenched the gunner’s hands, carefully holding Bluestreak’s fingers.
“Your youngest brother worries about his two older brothers whenever they’re out of his sight. And sometimes, even when he’s got both optics on them.” Beckoning Smokescreen over, Prowl settled into a shared embrace with the two other mechs.
“Your youngest brother doesn’t care about anything else when his family needs him, because he knows they’d do the same for him.”
The sniper hugged his siblings tight, whispering in self-recrimination. “But there’s so much that needs to be done. I should have noticed sooner, now you’re gonna have to rush through it all.”
“I have had time. I did the research on my own, and I have already made my choice. All that remains is seeing if he will agree. And I think he will, if his actions are anything to go by.”
“… You knew.” Smokescreen breathed in surprise, and the black and white Datsun smiled, murmuring softly in reply.
“I know I can be oblivious, but I would need to be blind and deaf not to realise what he’s been doing since we met.”
Bluestreak choked, then started to snicker. “I wondered why you let him get away with it.”
Prowl smirked, the look completely predatory (and here both his siblings suddenly felt rather sorry for the mech who’d caused that expression).
“Not for much longer.”

1. I have the head of a chicken embryo, pickled in alcohol and stuffed in a clear little plastic bottle. I bring it out to freak the relatives, make squeamish friends squirm and generally go Eee!SoCool at with likeminded folks.
2. I have not seen or read most of the Transformers series (Serieses? Seria?), and take great joy in calling my friends' Gundam (and assorted robot-mecha-but-not!TF) figures Autobots and Decepticons (I also do the vice versa), just to see them froth at the mouth.
3. I am a boy (and yes, I see you going o_0, I keep my gender hidden for a reason. Ah well.).

Date: 2009-08-12 12:00 pm (UTC)I vote that the chicken thing is true because it is too crazy to be a lie, on the principle of K.I.S.S... which means the reading TF continuities thing is the most likely lie.

Date: 2009-08-12 12:41 pm (UTC)Love the idea of Prowl being the youngest of the Datsun-trio. So often he's portrayed as being older than Blue that this idea is wonderful.
Speaking of whom, poor Blue. Must be unsettling to watch the younger sibling all grown up and they're going to be doing... stuff... that you'd rather not think about them doing. ;)
I'll feed the bunny, though I'm sure I won't be the only one. :)

Date: 2009-08-12 01:22 pm (UTC)Do people freak out about the chicken head? Something like that would be really cool to have, just for the freak factor. I'm assuming this one is true.
And...I have no idea which of the other two are the lie, since they are both plausible.

Date: 2009-08-13 03:27 pm (UTC)Chicken head is true, and incredibly fun ^_^ I think people are getting accustomed to me though, they go ah... s'just you.

Date: 2009-08-12 01:56 pm (UTC)Did you pass on the bunny attraction to me? Cause I had a couple bunnies that decided my blood tasted good. (http://community.livejournal.com/tf_bunny_farm/243654.html#cutid1)

Date: 2009-08-12 02:30 pm (UTC)You *have* to have the chicken head. That's just too out there to be the lie. Of the other two, I agree with Mmouse15. They're both plausible. Will you tell us?

Date: 2009-08-13 03:36 pm (UTC)(no subject)
Date: 2009-08-12 02:33 pm (UTC)And I'm voting the third one is the lie just because everyone is voting for the chicken head. lol, I know, I'm so dumb that I'm smart!

Date: 2009-08-12 08:10 pm (UTC)And I'm voting that #3 is a lie, because I'm pretty sure I remember you mentioning #2 before, and the chicken head sounds entirely plausible and just outrageous enough not to be made up. Also you write distinctly like a girl, not like a guy or one of the more 'androgynous' writers I've come across.

Date: 2009-08-14 03:22 am (UTC)And I would be one of the ones demading to see the chicken head and talking all about it. :P I loved my 7th grade science teacher. She had a premature baby deer in a jar, tap worm that was over 3 feet in lenght, a cow's eyeball, and all kinds of other things. For some reason I was the only kid who liked to sit in the desk right by all of them. XD
And I say #3 is the lie! *waits for you to shout, "HAHAHA! FOOLISH MORTAL! You only think its a lie!*
