Prompt from
meallanmouse
Bee, Sam & Mikeala. Protectiveness. With the AIs knowing more about the situation than Bee does.
^_^ This prompts thing is working rather well.
Jazz looked up as two holographic figures shimmered into being in front of him.
“Hey Sam, Mikeala. Where’s Bee?”
“He’s asleep.”
The man tilted his head to one side, optical band flaring as he ran a quick scan over the room and checked the vid feeds, confirming that yes, Bee was nowhere near his position and was in fact asleep on the couch in the rec room. The two holos glanced at each other, then back at the man, who was staring warily at them now.
“We know everyone thinks we’re not real.”
“And for most part, we suppose that’s true. We’re not humans.”
“But we care for Bee, and… we were made to be as autonomous as possible.”
“Please keep this a secret; we don’t want it getting out.”
Jazz watched the pair, expression unreadable. “… Alright. Now, what brings you to me?”
“We don’t sleep, so we wander the networks a lot.”
“Found something… on A and C.”
“Might be real, might be not, but we’ve been keeping Bee from it for a while.”
“He doesn’t know, but he’s getting suspicious.”
“We don’t want him to run out on his own and get hurt.”
“Right, can I see this data?”
“Here.”
Two presences ghosted across the connections, and he trailed them. Finding the links they indicated, Jazz slipped into the indicated system, working his way across a million traps and security programs as he did so. When he got a look at what the two had found, he whispered a quiet oath, then made a copy and erased all traces of his presence.
Disconnecting, he looked at the two holos, their expressions concerned and guilty. “Hey, you did good, okay? You’re worried ‘bout Bee, and he would have found this eventually. I’ll run it through every check I know and keep an eye on him. If he bolts, one of you get me, immediately.”
“Thank you, Jazz.”
“No problem. You’ve made me curious now though.”
“About us.”
“Yeah. You realise I can’t just let this go. I have to tell Optimus.”
“That’s fine, we understand. Just, not anyone else, okay? Please, just let us keep this a secret a while longer. Once we find them, we’ll explain.”
“Very well.”

Bee: a line on A or C that turns out to be a trap.
This reply followed the one above almost immediately. Who am I to argue with the bunny? The rest of your prompts are still being worked on ^_^
Harsh breaths, the sound of heavy footsteps pounding after him.
= = =
“Bee, don’t be like this.”
“Yeah, please? Me and ‘Kaela, we weren’t sure about the data.”
“We didn’t want you to get hurt.”
// I can tell you baby get lost. Why don't you get lost.//
= = =
A corner, hacking streetcam feedback to check that no one was lurking behind it to snare him.
= = =
“A bit harsh on them, don’t you think? They really were only looking out for you.”
A sigh.
“Bee, you’re important to the team, and we didn’t want you put in danger.”
// I can handle it, I can go there baby with you//
“Perhaps, but would you have waited for us? Or listened to us if we thought it was too dangerous for you to go? Our greatest concern was that you’d run off on your own to look for your friends, without backup or anyone knowing where you’d gone. It doesn’t help that you spend every free moment you have searching for them.”
He’d glared, not wanting to admit it. Jazz had laughed.
= = =
Where were the others? They were supposed to be there. Family, Jazz had said.
= = =
“Deal with it, kid. You’re the youngest around here, so naturally we’re going to sit on you.”
// It sucks to be me.//
“Well. Your life generally has been one long case of suck, I can’t deny that, but you got friends who’re looking out for you now. Family. Even if you hate them for it right now and Ironhide will dissect me with a teaspoon if he ever finds out I said that about him.”
//Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.//
“Yeah, A and C are your family too, and we’re looking for them, I promise. But we need to keep the bit of that family we got with us safe too.”
= = =
Frag, what if they’d gotten caught? No. Couldn’t think like that. Corner.
= = =
“Kid, I don’t want to get your hopes up on this. It looks real, but Sam and Mikeala found that data way too easy for me to be comfortable with it. It’s plausible, but barely so. Smells fishy. That said…”
Jazz held up a hand to forestall a blast of impassioned music. The man really knew him too well.
“We’re going to check it out, and no, you don’t get to follow us. But you can watch.”
= = =
They’d been right. He’d snuck out and tracked them in person, instead of riding the streetcam networks like they’d asked him to.
He’d keep a tighter rein on his emotions after this.
If he survived.
= = =
“Frag, kid! What are you doing here!?”
= = =
It’d been a trap. And it sprung the second he’d been recognised.
= = =
“Bee, run.”
= = =
Stupid.
= = =
“Secondary group’s at these co-ords. Get there in one piece, we’ll catch up later.”
= = =
Home stretch. Safe, fragging safe, if he could make it past-
Nearly inaudible shots whistled past him. He dared a look up. A shock of red hair. A cool, emotionless expression, eyes fixed on the pursuers. A sniper’s rifle.
Non lethal ammo.
Actual killing was something to be avoided. Paperwork and cleanup got messy.
A blond darting briefly out of a building.
= = =
“Get in and stay down.”
= = =
He dropped, tucked himself into as small a figure as he could, and waited.
Everyone would be safe. They had to be.
