Title: As You Wish
'Verse: 2007 Transformers
Rating: PG
Warnings: Fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles... And ROUS *cough*
Real Warnings: Fluff. Sap. Diabetes.

Two teenagers watched as Jazz stopped Prowl in the rec room when the tactician paused for energon on his way to his office, the saboteur talking as he shuffled through the datapads in his hands.

“Ratch’s got this list of requisitions, and there’s another list here somewhere that Wheeljack’s handed me. Ironhide’s finished the plans for the training areas, here they are, ‘Jack’s gone through them, says they’re sound. Government’s given the okay for the expansions, their official response is in here. The twins are on punishment duty again, they made Red Alert fry another circuit, amongst other things, that report’s here as well, together with the report on the recent diplomatic thing with the US Gov folk and the one on the latest arrivals, and this other bunch of reports here.”

Finishing the ration, the black and white bot accepted the stack of pads, and the silver mech smiled. “Welp. Won’t keep you any longer. I know you’re busy.”

“I’d be less busy if Sideswipe could keep from getting into trouble, and dragging Sunstreaker into it every time he does so.” An aggravated whirr of air intakes, and Jazz chuckled in commiseration.

“You’d have better luck getting the ‘Cons to lay down arms and play patty cake.”

“Don’t I know it.”

“Anyway, I’m gonna need your John Hancock on all these by the end of today.”

“As you wish.”

“Thanks, Prowler!” There was an exasperated sound from the chevroned mech, and the saboteur snickered as Prowl exited the room, the tactician having long realised that arguing over the nickname would be pointless.

Task completed, the saboteur dropped onto the mech sized couch for a quick break. Mech sized, that is, for most of the Autobots on Earth. His pedes still swung a good distance from the ground if he sat all the way against the backrest. He didn’t mind. ‘Bee was much in the same boat (and it was kinda fun). Glancing over at Sam and Mikeala, he snickered at their stares.

“What?”

Sam’s mouth worked a bit before Mikeala sighed and elbowed the boy so he toppled over face first into their human sized couch.

“Just… looked like a lot of datapads for one mech to go through.”

“Heh, it does, doesn’t it? Can’t begin to tell you how glad I am Prowl got here so soon. Mech’s a godsend when it comes to running a base.”

“Ooh, so cold. Is that all you’re glad for?”

Jazz responded to the girl’s cheeky smile with a laugh. “Hey, no making fun of the newly mended. He’s my friend, ‘course I’m glad he’s safe and here with m- us. Travelling through space ain’t a walk in the park, even with a ship. Lot of things that can go wrong between here and Cybertron. Lot of ‘Cons too.”

“Sounds dangerous.”

“Mmhm.” The Solstice exhaled slowly, visor dimming briefly, then bounced to his pedes again. “No rest for the wicked, gotta get back to it. See you two around!”

As the silver mech left as well, Mikeala shot Sam a LookTM.

“Did Prowl just…”

The boy nodded. “Think so.”

“But Jazz has…”

Sam shook his head, and Mikeala leant back, eyes squeezed shut. “Oh God, and I thought you could be clueless.”

“It could be a fluke though. And hey, I object to that!”

Their conversation then degenerated pretty quickly into a tickle fight after that.

= = =

“Prowl?” The SIC looked up from his bookfile at Jazz’s hesitant inquiry, and noted the two teenagers hovering behind the saboteur. “Yes?”

The Solstice clicked sheepishly, before making his request. “I know you’re off duty now, but please take over my monitor shift for a while? ‘Bee’s still out in the repair bay, that ‘niggling little injury’ was something a bit more serious than he thought, and the kids need a ride back. I don’t trust the twins to keep out of trouble, and I’d ask you to drop them off instead, but having a police car pull up your driveway apparently isn’t the best of ways to get home.”

The black and white mech inclinded his helm in consideration, before putting away the file and rising from his seat. “As you wish. Be careful out there, Barricade was sighted not too long ago.”

“I’m always careful. No bringing up Megatron, that was a special case. Thanks.” The saboteur grinned, and turned around to hustle the humans out of the building.

Once inside Jazz’s car form, Mikaela shot Sam another LookTM. He shrugged, and once their ride had dropped them off at a bus stop (they’d managed to convince the saboteur that they’d be fine making their own way from it, and he could get back faster if he did so), Sam sighed.

“It’s possible, but there’s still the chance that it could be a fluke.”

Mikeala just rolled her eyes, but sighed her reluctant agreement as well.

= = =

“These are the new security measures I want to put in place; there are several points on this base that I don’t like the look of, in particular here, here and here, and right where we stand now. They aren’t covered adequately by sensors or cameras, and this one is the worst offender.”

Prowl nodded as the security mech indicated the respective locations on the maps and gestured to their surroundings. “I see the problem. The blind spots in this passage would be perfect for a cassette to sneak through.”

“So, I’ll get additional cameras put in?”

“That should be fine, Red Alert.”

“Thank you. I’ll start work on that right away.” The mech turned to leave, nodding to the group of humans and mechs walking down the corridor as he passed them by.

“Hey Prowl! There’s an open air music thing going on. ‘Bee, the kids and I are going. Wanna come with us?”

“Wouldn’t a police car present put a damper on the event?”

“We can park a ways off and holoform there. It’ll be a test run of Wheeljack’s new generators.”

“Thank you, Jazz, but I have too much work to do.”

“Aw, please? I haven’t seen you leave the base since I onlined from the repairs, and Ratchet says you’ve done nothing but work since you landed. S’not good for you, you know.”

“My tasks do have to be done, Jazz. It’s just the initial phase of settling the Autobots in, it’ll pass. I’ll join you once things have calmed down a bit more, perhaps.”

“Imma hold you to that, Prowler.” The saboteur waved a stern finger at the black and white mech teasingly. Prowl smiled faintly as he shook his head and made his way inside.

“As you wish.”

This time, Sam nodded to Mikaela’s LookTM.

= = =

“Hm? Oh, hey, ‘Bee. Did you want something?”

The scout clicked cheerily at the Solstice from where he’d poked his head in through the mech’s doorway. “Sam and Mikeala reminded me that you were still offline during our first movie night on Earth. We thought you’d like to see the film you missed.”

“Really? Thanks!” Jazz picked up the (relatively) tiny case from the Camaro’s hand, turning it over to look at the title.

“The Princess Bride? Sounds entertaining.”

“It was. I think you’ll like it.”

“Thanks again ‘Bee.”

The yellow mech chirped a farewell, then left to gather his humans and inform them of his success.

= = =

It was a distracted saboteur who wandered over to Prowl’s quarters later that evening. The tactician answered his door to find Jazz shifting uncertainly outside, and let the silver mech into the room at Jazz’s quiet request.

“Jazz? Is something wrong?

“… Just gotta ask you something.”

“… What is it?”

“Prowler, kiss me?”

A slow smile spread across Prowl’s faceplates, and Jazz returned it almost shyly. The tactician leant in, gently tilting the saboteur’s helm upwards as he did so.

“As you wish.”

you need to add ROUSes to the warnings

As soon as I saw the warnings, I knew what it was! the Princess Bride is one of the best movies ever made, and as soon as Prowl said 'as you wish' I was happy!

Thanks you for the lovely fluffy pick-me-up. *hugs*

D'awww.

Wonderful use of the line, though I have to admit that it's not my favorite: "Never mess with a Sicilian when death is on the line!" I have to admit that one would be a hell of a lot harder to work into a transformers fic. ^^

Thanks for sharing this... the only thing better than fluff is well-crafted fluff. And Prowl's smile made me smile too.

For the last week the urge to severely maim and/or kill my boss has been slowly rising. This probably just saved her *grins*

I loved this! The Princess Bride is one of my all time favourite movies (to the point where I drag my copy of it around the world with me wherever I end up with my job).
