After that humiliation I trained a Sandslash to lvl somethingstupid (70 I think) and went to defeat them with a Normal pokemon for revenge. I are strange.
Bruticus and Menasor also lose Intelligence but gain "Rage" as a status effect when fighting their rivals. Also any gestalt base pokemon gains a general increase in their stats if there is at least one other member of their gestalt in your team
